Iceland
Follow the northern lights as they dance across the sky in this otherworldly landscape
Gosh, where do we start? Iceland is a hiker’s dream – at least during summer, that is. We’ve trekked in a fair few places around the globe and there’s nothing quite like the rugged nature of Iceland. Between May and September, the snows melt just enough to unveil colourful mountains, lava fields, lakes and black sands. It’s often said that Iceland is a country of water, and you’ll see for yourself that there are more glaciers here than anywhere you’ve ever been! When the Icelanders are not out admiring their countless waterfalls and glaciers, you’ll probably find them relaxing in the hot pools that seem to be around every corner.
It’s not all about the jaw-dropping scenery though. You should know that Icelanders still believe in elves and trolls, they’re the best knitters the world has ever seen and (don’t judge) they eat their beloved puffin.
