Ultimate Journeys For Two

Mike and Anne Howard are officially the world's longest honeymooners, and founders of the acclaimed travel blog HoneyTrek. Here at Active Adventures we've had the pleasure of hosting and guiding hundreds of honeymooners on our trips over the past twenty years, so we were excited when Mike and Anne got in touch to enquire about joining one of our adventures. They chose the Galapagos Land and Sea Adventure 'Tortuga' trip - think snorkelling in rich, clear blue waters, walking amidst hundreds of scurrying iguanas and relaxing with a cocktail at sunset - and that's a fraction of what they experienced! They then went on to write a book about their global honeymoon, and Active Adventures has been featured under the Galapagos section.

Travel the World with the One You Love

In this book, Mike and Anne whisk you away to journeys of a lifetime drawing on their experience travelling together across seven continents. If you're an intrepid couple, keen on combining adventure, romance and culture you'll certainly find some ideas here. Chapters are organized by type of destination (for example, beaches, mountains, and deserts) to help travellers discover new places and experiences based on their interests. You'll learn about the best time to visit, the best places to stay, and recommended activities - each with their own adventure rating to illustrate level of intensity. Special features include funny and insightful stories from the Howards’ own adventures, expert advice from other renowned travelling couples, and tips to increase the romance and excitement at each destination. A large map shows every location covered in the book, and each entry has a locator map depicting the city and country.

    No regrets! Accomplish the impossible!

I can't begin to describe my Rimu experience, from the amazing guides, Ken and Elder, to my fellow travelers and the detail that Active Adventures puts into everything we did. I was able to scale and climb those mountains and ridges that I laughed off as impossible, see the most amazing untouched scenery, completely decompress and completely check out from my daily life. If you want to see the south island the way it was meant to be seen, you're open to being active everyday with the conveniences for yourself taken care of, take this trip!

New Zealand is Majestic...Thanks Active Adventures!

This was my first trip traveling alone and traveling overseas. Active Adventures made this trip amazing and so easy. From initial planning of trip, to the moment of pick up at the airport, until drop off at the end of the adventure all details were taken care of. The guides (Amanda and Joe) were fabulous and the prepared meals were fantastic. New Zealand is truly beautiful. Thanks for sharing your country, can't wait to go back!

    Active is the Word!

I thoroughly enjoyed my Condor adventure. I've been on a few of these hosted by other companies and I think Active Adventures is the best so far - a good value too. When you say all-inclusive, you mean it. We often ordered whatever we wanted right off the menu. Arturo and the other guides did a great job. The itinerary was excellent - I know because a few times we barely made the connection to a boat. There was little down time. Doing the W Hike in the first week is also key - We were fresh and ready then. The weather on our trip was not ideal. We totally missed seeing Fitz Roy, despite 4 days in El Chalten. Oh well. Mother Nature didn't cooperate. The only thing that would've made the trip better would be better accommodations at some of the refugios. I know you can't control this and there's not a lot of choice, but, boy, some of those shower facilities and bathrooms were just awful. I'm looking forward to hiking with you guys again soon. :)

    Hiking in the Alps

The trip with Active Adventures to the Mount Blanc area was great. The scenery is unbelievable in all three countries. The hikes were all wonderful and yet very demanding. That made the trip even more rewarding for us. We got to do things we never have done before on the off day. Paragliding in Chamonix was a first and fabulous. All of the small towns we travelled to were lovely. The accommodations in these towns were great. Nice small hotels that all were so much a part of those towns. All of the meals were also great. The lunches were just the right amount and much of the local food such as cheese. All of the dinners were very good.
Our tour guides were great. Jean-Marc knows the Mount Blanc area so well. Andy was always available and helpful. Together they made the trip a pleasure.
